Intermediate Financial Planning
Take your finances further with insurance, renting vs buying, tax optimization, Monotributo income, and long-term goal setting in Argentina.
This module takes you beyond the fundamentals. You have learned how to manage bank accounts, build a budget, save consistently, handle debt responsibly, and begin investing. Now you will address the financial decisions that separate those who merely survive from those who build lasting security and wealth: protecting what you have, making strategic housing decisions, keeping more of what you earn, creating additional income streams, and setting goals that drive everything forward.
You will begin with insurance — the financial safety net that most people ignore until disaster strikes. In Argentina, understanding your healthcare options between the public system, obras sociales, and prepagas, choosing the right seguro de auto (mandatory by law) and seguro de hogar, and protecting your family with life and other coverage can mean the difference between a manageable setback and financial ruin. You will learn which coverage is mandatory, which is essential, and how to avoid paying for protection you do not need amid constant premium adjustments.
From there, you will tackle the biggest financial decision most Argentines face: renting versus buying a home. You will understand how the rental market works under the current Ley de Alquileres, how property is overwhelmingly priced and transacted in dollars, what créditos hipotecarios UVA mean for affordability and risk, and how to calculate whether buying makes sense for your specific situation. Real numbers for Buenos Aires, Córdoba, and Rosario will ground this decision in reality rather than emotion.
The module then addresses tax optimization — not evasion, but the legal strategies that let you keep more of your money. You will master the Monotributo regime and its categorías, understand when it makes sense to move to Responsable Inscripto, learn how Bienes Personales and Ingresos Brutos affect you, and navigate AFIP obligations with confidence. Every peso saved legally on taxes is a peso that works for you.
Next, you will explore side income and freelancing in the Argentine context. From registering as a monotributista to issuing facturas, you will understand the legal and tax framework for earning additional income — whether through platforms, freelancing for clients abroad and managing dollar earnings, or professional consulting. You will know exactly how to formalize, charge, and grow income beyond your primary job.
Finally, you will bring everything together with financial goal setting. Using the SMART framework adapted to Argentina’s financial instruments — plazo fijo UVA, FCI, CEDEARs, dollar savings — you will create a concrete roadmap from where you are today to where you want to be. You will learn to track net worth in both pesos and dollars (the only honest way to measure progress under inflation), and build a plan that connects daily habits to decades-long outcomes.
By the end of Module 6, you will have the tools and knowledge to make confident, strategic financial decisions that protect your present and build your future within Argentina’s unique financial landscape.
